How to verify Viber in 5 steps

How activation works
You install the app, enter your number, and Viber sends a six-digit code. If you do not get the text, the app can place an automated call that reads the code out. A rented number only receives texts here, so rely on the SMS.
Once the code is in, Viber asks for your name and photo. Your number becomes visible to people who have it saved, as with most phone-based apps.
The recovery question
Viber ties the account to a number. If you reinstall or move to a new phone, it sends a new code to the same number. After the rental ends, that code will go nowhere, and you may lose the account.
So use a rented number for a throwaway account, a short test, or a group you can recreate. For something you want to keep, use a number you own.
Possible refusals
Viber can refuse a number it considers risky, or limit how many times a number can be activated. If it says the number cannot be used, cancel after two minutes and try another country.
