Twitch SMS Verification
Receive a Twitch verification code for a new streaming or viewing account.
Twitch is a live streaming site. You can watch without an account, but you need one to chat, follow channels, or stream. Twitch may ask for a phone number to verify an account, and some channels require a verified phone before you can chat.
SMS Activate rents you a number for that text. The number and code appear on your dashboard. Your wallet is charged when the number is issued, and an activation with no SMS in 20 minutes is refunded.
How to verify Twitch in 5 steps
- 1Open the dashboard and choose Twitch from the service list.
- 2Pick a country and buy a number.
- 3Enter the number in your Twitch account settings or sign-up.
- 4Wait for the code on your dashboard.
- 5Enter it, then set up an authenticator app.
Where the phone check shows up
Twitch's help pages explain that a verified phone number can be needed to stream or to chat in channels that ask for it. Streamers use this rule to keep spam out of their chat.
If you are a viewer who just wants to chat, one verification may be all you need. If you want to stream, you will also deal with two-factor login, which is another place a number can appear.
A rule about how many accounts
Twitch limits how many accounts can use the same phone number. Their help pages mention a cap, and the number is not meant to spread across many accounts. A rented number is a fresh number each time, but do not use it to create bulk accounts. That breaks Twitch's rules and gets accounts banned.
We do not support bulk or fake account creation.
Keeping the account yours
After you verify, add an email you check and set up an authenticator app for two-factor login. If you rely on a rented number for two-factor, you will be locked out when it expires.
Never share your stream key or your login codes.
Price and refunds
Prices vary by country, usually a few cents to under a dollar. Codes normally arrive within a minute.
If no SMS comes in 20 minutes, the order is refunded to your wallet. If Twitch refuses the number, cancel after the first two minutes and try again. We cannot promise acceptance.
