Vinted is a marketplace for second-hand clothes and accessories. Sellers list items, buyers pay through the platform, and both sides get messages and shipping updates. Vinted can ask for a phone number to check an account.

When Vinted asks for a code

A phone check can show up at sign-up, when you add payout details, or when something about your activity looks new. It confirms there is a real person behind the account.

If you plan to sell regularly, the account will carry your payouts and your shipping details. Think about whether you want a number that will still be yours later.

Sellers and buyers

Sellers often prefer a separate number, because buyers send many messages and Vinted can send frequent notices. A separate number keeps these away from your everyday line.

Buyers have an easier choice. If you only want to browse and buy once or twice, a rented number for the first code is enough, and you can log in later with your email.

Keeping the account safe

Add an email you check and a strong password. Do not move a deal off the platform, and do not share codes with other users. Vinted's payment protection only works inside the platform.

If a rented number is the only way to recover the account, you could lose access when the activation ends. Always add an email.

Price, countries and refunds

Prices vary by country, normally a few cents to under a dollar. Pick a country where Vinted runs. Codes usually arrive within a minute.

If no SMS arrives in 20 minutes, the order is refunded to your wallet. We cannot promise Vinted will accept every number; if one is refused, try another.
